Our Wedding Day

I'm not quite sure how to even go about starting this blog post! Our wedding day was a labor of love but I could not have asked for a more perfect day. Jake and I got married on June 22 on the Chesapeake Bay surrounded by 75 of our closest friends and family members and I wish we could do it over again every weekend!

I knew as soon as we got engaged that I wanted to take on a LOT of DIY elements for the wedding. We were working on a budget and I've always enjoyed learning new things and especially anything thats creative! So over our year and a half engagement I watched lots of youtube videos, took a few classes, and spent waaayyy too much time on Pinterest! But it was the best experience and I loved being able to have such a hands on experience when creating our day. My mom and I ended up sourcing and creating all of the bouquets and centerpieces, painted all of the paper goods (obviously!!), and my Dad even got involved by creating the beautiful escort card display!! It was a team effort but it brought the whole family together and made for some great memories!!

A little about the day of details..I used a custom monogram wax seal to seal our wedding invitations and I loved it so much that I knew I had to use it somewhere else in the wedding! That ended up leading to wax seal escort cards and then we used different color wax seals on everyones place card to indicate their meal choice! It was an elegant way to indicate the meals and also tied everything together! I also ended up using our crest EVERYWHERE haha. I featured it on our welcome sign and had these really cute cocktail napkins printed with it on! I then took the flowers from our crest and featured them on the signature drink signs and place cards which I think helped to carry a theme throughout the whole day!

Ok I could go on about our wedding day FOREVER but I'll stop myself!! It was the most memorable day and it couldn't have happened if we didn't have such a supportive family and the best team of vendors. If you're looking to get married in the Maryland/DC area I can't recommend the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club and Hannah Bjorndal Photography enough!! The staff at the Beach Club couldn't have made our experience any easier and well I may have a girl crush on our photographer!! As soon as we spoke on the phone over a year ago I knew she had to be the one to photograph our day. So happy to share some of my favorite moments for our day with all of you.

A huge thank you to all of the vendors who helped make our day so perfect!
